Por certo uma das mais depuradas baladas de toda a obra dos Rolling Stones, Moonlight Mile encerra o álbum Sticky Fingers em tom de magoado romantismo. É uma canção a que a banda sempre regressou, nomeadamente em alguns concertos da recente Zip Code Tour. Entre as respectivas versões, destacam-se as de 5th Dimension e The Flaming Lips; o tema surge também, e empresta o título, a um belo melodrama de 2002 (título português: Sonhos Desfeitos), assinado por Brad Silberling, com Jake Gyllenhaal, Dustin Hoffman e Susan Sarandon nos principais papéis — aqui ficam as palavras e os sons de um genuíno clássico.
