A mini-série de seis episódios Into The West, com produção executiva de Steven Spielberg, lidera as nomeações dos Emmys, os prémios de televisão anualmente entregues nos EUA. Into The West, já editado em DVD nos EUA, colheu 16 nomeações, ultrapassando a série histórica britânica Elisabeth I, que reuniu 13. Entre a lista dos mais nomeados encontramos ainda 24, com 12. Lost, uma das grandes séries vencedoras no ano passado, somou apenas nove nomeações (nenhuma na categoria de Melhor Série Dramática). Sete Palmos de Terra, na sua época final, ainda juntou nove nomeações, entre as categorias de interpretação, direcção artística e outros detalhes técnicos.
